Class Library Visits

Classes visit the library weekly or every other week depending on grade level. In general, students who visit the library weekly may check out one library book, students who visit the library every other week may check out two library books. Additional items may be checked out for class projects or at teacher discretion.

Returns and Overdues

Library books are due the day before a class is scheduled to visit the library. Books not returned on the appropriate date are considered overdue. Students with overdue books may not check out another item until the overdue materials are returned.

Lost/Damaged Books

Students can clear their accounts for lost or damaged items by making a donation up to the amount of the replacement cost of the book, donating a replacement book (of the same title) or spending time volunteering in the library. Donations may be made to the school office.

Renewals

Students may renew a library loan by bringing the loaned item to the library at the time of their class visit. Certain popular items are not eligible for renewal such as graphic novels, Guinness World Record books, Eye Spy books, and Pokemon Handbooks. Items on hold for another student are also not eligible for renewal.

Library Holds

Students can browse the library catalog and place up to two books on hold using their school iPads. Instructions for Library Holds can be found here.

eBooks/Audio Books

Students can check out eBooks and audiobooks through the Sora app on their school iPad. Instructions for utilizing the Sora app can be found here.

Technology

Student devices will be checked out in August. Devices must be returned on the date requested at the end of the school year, in good working condition, along with the assigned Apple charger and cable. Aftermarket items will not be accepted. Students may submit a student repair ticket through the Student Repair Form icon on their school iPad. School iPads are property of the Fullerton School District and are intended for educational use. Improper use of school technology may result in loss of privileges.
